At, Global Garden International Preschool
we offer a learning experience to children from all over the world. Our philosophy is founded in sound
practice for helping to educate young children. We believe that each child is a unique and
capable individual. Each child has their own strengths and growth areas, and all children inherently possess
a curiosity and natural desire to learn.
First and foremost, we focus on teaching the whole child, which includes social and emotional development
before academic pursuits. Our objectives are to help children 1) foster supportive friendships, 2)
develop a sense of fairness and respectful behavior towards others, and 3) express their creativity,
curiosity, and drive to learn about life.
Our philosophy is child-centered, that is to say teachers teach with an approach that understands are
curious, eager to explore and learn, competent and resourceful, ready to cooperate, and full of wonder
and delight. Some of the educational pedagogy that has influenced our program include: Montesorri,
Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia, as well as educators such as John Holt, Alfie Kohn, Howard Gardner, and
Vivian G. Paley.
In addition, staff members are required to learn about and practice Non-Violent Communication (NVC).
NVC provides guidelines to help us communicate with children using respect and compassion. NVC honors
the feelings of both the children and the teachers, and works in personal relationships on many levels.
Many of our teachers are all bilingual with experiences living and traveling around the world.
Please feel free to come and visit us at our school and discover the wonderful opportunity our school can offer
your child.
